My name is Venita Parry Roylance. I was born in Provo, Utah, USA, in 1939 and have lived in Utah all my life (but I've visited lots of other places). I'm divorced, have five children and 15 grandchildren.

I'm a retired elementary school teacher, planning to spend the rest of my life doing family history research, taking photos, writing and doing whatever I want that doesn't involve having to wake up to an alarm clock. Well, that was the original plan, but it's not quite reality. I still get up to the alarm clock some mornings and go to the Family History Training Center where I teach others how to do their family history research. It's a great way to be retired!

New family photos were taken in April 2010 at the Maxfield home in American Fork on the occasion of the return of Elder Cory Maxfield from serving an LDS mission in Toronto, Canada. Andy and Danna were not there, unfortunately.

Syd's family. the Snows, continue to live in Washington County, now in the town of Ivins, home of the Tuacahn Theater. The two oldest boys, Ryan and Derrick are on their own and each one has moved into his own place in St. George. Ryan is in the automotive service business. Derrick is driving a truck from St. George to Las Vegas where he delivers baked goods to several restaurants. He hoping to be able to get back to college. Chazz has made he mark at Tuacahn High School as a talented photographer. He really has an eye for composition and lighting. Mitchell attends the Vista charter school, which focuses on performing arts. He has been in several plays there, and hopes to make 'show biz' his profession. This summer he will play Jacob in "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat." Mark still works in the auto parts business, and Syd is a team-lead for the southern Utah hospitals of Intermountain Health Care.

Leslie's family, the Maxfields, continue to live in American Fork, and the children pretty much grown. Chris is getting training for a career in digital design. Cory surprised us all by suddenly marrying his fiance', Michelle, last Easter. He has joined the Army and now serves in Afghanistan with a helicopter group from Utah. Erin graduated from Snow College in May, and is not sure what her next step will be. In the meantime she is working at a costume shop. Chase is out of high school for the summer, but still playing his tuba in parades with the AF high school band. He, too, shows remarkable skills in photography. He particularly enjoys taking close-up photos of tiny things. Ross is an electrical engineer for Cisco company in Lindon, and Leslie enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and play-date scheduler for Doug, the dog.

Alex's family lives in Springville in a new neighborhood which was farmland just a few years ago. He enjoys his work as the city Building and Grounds superintendant, and the city forester. Tanya is a stay-at-home mom who contributes to the family income by being an Independant Consultant for Scentsy Flameless Candles. Rachel is learning to play the cello in the middle school orchestra. Elli loves school and spending time being with her many friends. Ben is getting better and better at the things he loves, especially building elegant machines with Legos. Two new puppies recently joined the family - Rose and Violet.

Tom has moved his family to West Virginia. He is a Paramedic and is starting an education business with his friend, Mark, who is also a Paramedic. They will teach classes in CPR and other first responder skills. You can find them on Facebook. Everyone seems to be happy in their new surroundings.

Andy and Danna have moved to Santaquin with their three dogs and their new baby! Garrison was born on May 27, 2011. He is the cutest baby ever, of course! Andy works with Springville Power department. Danna is a stay a home mom most of the time, but also helps at a day-care center a few days a week.

Here is Garrison on his first birthday! He looks just like his mom, doesn't he?

Smokey is my full-time companion. He is not a snuggle cat, except at bedtime when he sleeps right next to me, but on top of the covers. He is now 13 years old, and still in good shape for such an old guy. He is less frisky, and not as playful as he once was, but still thinks he's a kitten every once in a while. He usually stays near me when I'm home. In this photo he is guarding my laptop and a gameboard on the coffee table while I rest on the sofa and watch tv.
